Penalty Theater: The Art of the Dive

On the pitch, I take my stance,

Hoping for a chance, a penalty dance,

The ball’s at my feet, but here’s the plan,

To take a dive and be the showman.

I’m blind, I’m deaf, I want to be ref,

Rolling on the grass, I’m feeling so deft,

Watch me flop with flair so left,

Oh, give me that penalty, don’t leave me bereft!

Leaping and flailing, oh, what a sight,

Pretending I’m hurt, I’m in such a plight,

Writhing on the ground, with all my might,

Begging for the spot-kick, for the referee’s delight.

I’m flapping my arms, and I’m making a scene,

With every fake injury, I’m feeling so keen,

A theatrical stunt, so loud and so mean,

I think I deserve the Oscar , what a dream!

Here’s to the divers with hearts so bold,

Chasing those penalties, our stories unfold,
